Artist Statement
My work takes on many forms from abstraction and portraiture. Both are inspired from ephemeral experiences, and words that trigger emotion based on its context. My subjects are inspired by views of social, political, historically issues around identity. My background in poetry and illustration has sparked my consistent interest in various forms of communication and the semiotic representation of words. I like to push the boundaries of wordplay by exploring various media and deconstructing preconceived ideas of titles: their meaning, and how it relates to our common perceptions. My goal as an artist is to inspire critical thinking and ignite conversations of one’s personal experience.
